Just because it’s a Greyhound does not mean they are all the same. Generalisations can be made of play – Sleep – feed routines. However each personality is specific to every dog.
Child Friendly – This is specific to each dog and family on a case by case basis. Please be clear on what you expect from a relationship between the dog and your family, so we can find your best match.
Submissive – These types of dogs prefer someone else to take charge. Sometimes they can be labelled as “shy” or “timid”. The submissive dog wants to watch and see what you are like and how you interact with other pets first. A lead walk in a new area, or a crowded beach, may take some time to accomplish. If you are confident they will be confident. They will watch and follow at a distance. Once they have your trust, they will loyally be your best friend. A couch sharer to watch a movie and snuggle in cold weather.
Agreeable – Happy without reservation, these dogs will be interested in everything you do, everywhere you go, and will want to be involved. A nose will find every snack you are trying to hide, looking for their share. A lead walk will take forever because there will always be something to investigate. A night on the couch will be shared with distance and one eye on your late night food indulgence.
Playful – Always a game to be made from anything and everything. A playful dog has no boundary limitations. Quick to join in with a boldness to share with everyone in the household and will welcome visitors as a long lost friend. With energy spent playing, naps and night time sleeping can be accomplished on any surface, floor or couch.

Please be clear on what you expect from your canine relationship.
